Ingredients

• Rifampicin Powder
• 99% Methanol

Equipment

• Sterile 15mL Centrifuge Tube
• Vortexer
• -20C Freezer
• Sterile 1.5mL Microcentrifuge Tubes

Step By Step

1. Weigh 150mg of Rifampicin Powder and place it into a sterile 15mL tube.
2. Add 9mL of Methanol to the tube. Be sure to do this in a fume hood or in a very well ventilated area. DO NOT INHALE METHANOL FUMES.
3. Vortex the solution to fully dissolve.
4. Top off the solution to the 10mL mark with more 99% Methanol.
5. Aliquot 1mL into 1.5mL tubes and store at -20C.

Notes

Solution will be blood-red and stains surfaces easily.
